  1. Windows 95 Installation Instructions

  3. 1. Launch Windows 95.
  4. 2. Double click on the Display icon in the "Setting->Control Panel" folder on the Start menu. You 
  5. can also click the right mouse button anywhere on the desktop and select the "Properties" 
  6. option from the pop-out menu.
  7. 3. Click the "Setting" Tab and click on the "Change Display Type..." button.
  8. 4. Under "Adapter Type" click on the "Change" button.
  9. 5. Click on the "Have Disk" button.
  10. 6. Change to the directory containing the Driver files and click the "OK" button (e.g. A:\).
  11. 7. Select the "S3.INF" file and click the "OK" button.
  12. 8. Select the appropriate "S3 Inc...." driver from the list and click the "OK" button. VLB for VL 
  13. Bus system and PCI for PCI system.   Note: The "Inc" following S3 means it is a driver 
  14. released from S3 and it is newer than the drivers shipped on the Microsoft Win95 CD or 
  15. diskettes.
  16. 9. If a message stating that one or more driver files is older than the files on the system respond 
  17. "NO" to overwrite the files. 
  18. 10. Click on the "Close" button.
  19. 11. Select the appropriate resolution using the "Desktop Area" and "Color Palette" options.
  20. 12. Click the Apply button.  
  21. 13. At the "System Settings Change" dialog Click "Yes" to restart computer.
